TIGNES

To hike as a family around the neighborhoods of Tignes, let’s discover 3 easy and very enjoyable routes. There’s something for everyone!

Tour du Lac des Brèvières

Tour of Lac des Brèvières

The walk:

Start at the last Brèvières parking lot, near the gondola station.

  • Cross the small wooden bridge, then follow the canal downstream.

  • Walk along the canal and the lake until you reach the lock.

  • At this point, cross over and head back towards the village and parking lot.

You will pass several small waterfalls on your way!

Very easy, accessible to the whole family. Most (but not all) of the path is stroller-friendly. Estimated time: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Les ruisseaux de la daille

The Streams of La Daille

The walk:

Take the path on the left that runs alongside the river. After about 500 meters, you will see many small streams on your right. You can explore them, splash around, settle down in the shade or sun, observe ant hills, and more...

Be careful if you build “dams” to dismantle them before leaving to avoid worsening erosion at this site! Ideal for a family picnic.

Access by car:

Drive to Val d’Isère – La Daille. Park at the second roundabout on the right. Cross the bridge to find yourself in front of the La Daille gondola station.

Very easy, accessible to the whole family. Most (but not all) of the path is accessible with a baby carriage. Estimated time: 30min - 1h round trip.

Bois de la Laye

Discovering the Bois de la Laye

The walk:

The trail starts near the Home Club building (Lavachet). The botanical trail features many identified plants. It also leads to the resurgence of the Salin waterfall. The Bois de la Laye trail takes you to a magnificent viewpoint overlooking Lac du Chevril, the dam, and the Mont Blanc massif. It is accessible for children from 4 years old up to the point called “sheep cemetery.” Beyond this point, the path climbs to the viewpoint. It is then possible to continue up to reach the Croix de Combe Folle. This part of the trail is recommended for children from 8 years old.

Accessibility:

It is possible to reach the starting point of the walk by shuttle, on foot via the bike path, or by car (free covered parking at Lavachet nearby).

Easy, accessible to the whole family from age 4 for the botanical trail. The path is not stroller-friendly. Estimated time: between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the chosen route.
